i feel like sunderland city council is messing with me.

i had applied for a blue badge and a concessionary bus pass in late january. all they asked me to send was a picture for the bus pass, not my CVI. i didn't think i needed to either as i had already sent it to the council before. application was rejected because i get the wrong PiP points for the blue badge. this somehow affected the travel pass too so i had to reapply in early february. once again no one asked me at all to resubmit my CVI. i was just told i'd get post within 15 days. when i didn't get anything by the 28th i decided to ring them, was on hold for ages and eventually gave up. they had an e-mail address so i emailed them and asked. it took them a whole week to reply, confirming that they received my application and need my CVI now.

like, why wasn't i told this on the phone? why didn't they tell me to send my CVI to this email? and why, once they would have realised they have my application without it, didn't they just contact me and ask me to send it? and do the different departments of the council not talk to each other at all because i had already sent my CVI to the sensory team?

if i hadn't asked them at all, they probably would have just let my incomplete application sit there while i wait 15 days 10 times because they don't actually care about disabled people. (which was already obvious when i asked to be referred to the local blind org and they took a month and me chasing them up to do it when they said 7 days.)

you cannot tell me that this isn't legal gatekeeping.
